East thirty Second and "317 East thirty Second"

Postby manefmusic » Fri Apr 16, 2010 7:05 pm

Hello all.

I'm trying to find out what the changes are in one of tristano's overdubbed pieces from the album "lennie tristano" which is called "East thirty Second". I've been searching online, and I only find info for the tune "317 east 32nd" which i can hear is out of nowhere lol but i can hardly hear the bass on that recording, and lennie's playng is kind of all over the place, so i'd like to know the changes over which he is improvising, in order to analyze what he's playing..

so if anyone can help me out, I would surely apprecciate it.

thanks,
Mané

The head does fit over the 'Out of Nowhere" changes, though there are a few bars of "317 E. 32nd St" which sound a little wonky with those changes (esp near the end of the head). The "317" changes are quite widely available in fake books. If you can't find them, post here again and I will give them to you.

Tristano's sidemen is my favorite Jazz group and "317 East thirty Second" is meant to be a start of the music school. There is no doubt why Tristano is known as the most famous Jazz players in the world. I love all his albums and a collection of all the albums released yet with me.
