Postby Connie Crothers » Sun Jan 09, 2011 1:10 pm

In the January 9, 2011 edition of the New York Times, there is an article about the "Lennie Tristano School," featuring Ted Brown and others. Here is the link: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/09/arts/ ... nted=print

Yes..It is a wonderful article about his school. The Lennie Tristano school covers the topics of study included ear training, harmony and technique. Tristano encouraged students to sing along with the recorded jazz solos of master improvisers like Parker and tenor saxophonist Lester Young. His systematic approach to teaching jazz influenced other schools also..
