Tristano tribute on BBC

Postby B T » Thu Dec 15, 2005 12:33 pm

There is a 15 minute BBC Radio feature on Lennie Tristano at the link below. There's another link on that page to play the current program (current until this Friday the 16th, that is). They play a few tracks and talk to Peter Ind and Connie Crothers. Its in the last hour of the show, but you can skip forward in 15 minute increments (to the time of 20:11). I actually enjoyed it, myself.

You can listen to this at the link shown through next Friday morning
12/16:

Hopefully, it will be archived after the 16th and still accessible. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!

Festival, plus a feature on the legacy of Lennie Tristano.

– Lennie Tristano and His Legacy", Linton Chiswick speaks with ex-
students of the criminally disregarded bebop pianist, Peter Ind and
Connie Crothers. Now whilst we can’t claim to compensate for decades
of relative obscurity in a mere 20 minutes, we’ve certainly got some
revealing anecdotes and if you haven’t heard them before, tracks like
"Intuition" and “Turkish Mamboâ€
