Ethan Iverson‘s latest contribution is runoff from his earlier lengthy discussion of Lennie Tristano (see Jostber’s post Do The Math). Of interest here is Ethan’s opinion that Lennie’s recorded free form experiments in 1949 had no influence on the free jazz of the 1960s. That in fact the two styles of music seem like totally unrelated art forms. I think Ethan is right. “Intuitionâ€
