Lennie has just been inducted into the Lincoln Center Jazz hall of Fame. There will be an invitation only ceremony on July 1 or 2. Following that there will be another ceremony open to the public, the date as yet undetermined. Two other musicians will be inducted this year—Dexter Gordon and James P. Johnson. I will speak at Lennie's induction ceremony. I am thrilled about this opportunity to say the many wonderful things I've wanted to say, making specisl reference to his multiple innovations. He will have a plaque in the Jazz Hall of Fame room in the Jazz @ Lincoln Center building in Manhattan. He will have a photo and there will be samples of his music. This room is located near the performance rooms. This establishment is visited by so many during each year. In this context, he now has the recognition he has deserved for so long!
