I'm looking for a recording with Lennie Tristano, Charlie Parker, Billy Bauter and Eddie Safranski.
I've spent a lot of hours doing a stained glass work of the four of them taken from an old 'famous' photograph. I feel like I know them and would love to hear what they sound like.
Thank you

There's a 2CD set of Dizzy Gillispie's RCA Victor recordings. At the the end of the 2nd disc are 4 tracks with Lennie, Bird, Bauer and Safranski playing together for a Metronome all-stars date (1949).
Hearing Bird play Tristano's line "Victory Ball" is just amazing.

There are a couple of other broadcasts from the late 1940's of Bird and Lennie playing together. this site has more info

Hey, Lennieheads!

Get active! Doesn´t anyone want to talk about this great musician? This forum is pretty dead. Anybody out there? Isn´t there tons of stuff to discuss?

Or is Lennies music dead? Now there`s a topic.

Hi all
I'll 2nd Jostbers idea.
A complete collection of all the Parker & Tristano recordings would be a great idea.
I imagine getting the rights to do it could prove to be a problem. There's probably quite a few labels invovled. $$$$.

A label like Proper Records in England could do that, I think, because of the european copyright laws. They released the Intuition box with Lennie in 2003.
