Regrettably I am a rather busy just now, but I have not forgotten my promise to write more about the peculiar circumstances surrounding this recording. Presumably Connie Crothers has a large number of tapes from the numerous sessions in most of which either the quality of the music or the recording was deficient. As the least experienced member of the trio, much of the musical deficiency must have been my fault. I hope no one is under the delusion that Lennie was easy to play with. Probably the music was best when his playing was the simplest for a number of reasons not the least of which is that then even I could understand it. If Connie sees this, I hope she has transferred everything to mp3 and preserved copies of the digitized information for the use of scholars despite the embarrassment to myself.
