317 E 32nd

I have been transcribing a tune with the catchy title '317 E 32nd' (from Lee Knoitz - Live at the Half Note) that is based on the changes for 'out of nowhere'. It sounds like the changes for the head are altered from the original (which I think are used during the solo). Does anyone know the what the chords actually are in the head? Also, is there a widely available collection of tristano tunes/transcriptions?

I found this list below from Michael Frohne, which doesn't actually help but it's still a good starting point.

I haven't heard of any large collections, but Billy Bauer published some transcriptions in the 60's.

The one I know of is Scenes and Variations (Tania, Carol, Bud)

I think Downbeat (?) published a transcription of Line Up - at least the head - at some point - anyone know what issue?

The only changed change that I know of is that the second chord of the tune is a C7 instead of Bb- to Eb 7.

Yes, the chord changes for the head are somewhat altered from the original progression for "Out of Nowhere". The head does fit over the 'Out of Nowhere" changes, though there are a few bars of "317 E. 32nd St" which sound a little wonky with those changes (esp near the end of the head). The "317" changes are quite widely available in fake books. If you can't find them, post here again and I will give them to you.

Different chords and transcription are available in the Youtube. So you do not have to be much worried about it, just do a random search in the Youtube with the required solo song name, and search for chords. You will get a good number of lists.

Thanks
