Peter Ind's Book

Hi Peter Ind has just published a book about Lennie Tristano (or at least his experience with Lennie), called "Jazz Visions: Lennie Tristano and His Legacy" I'm waiting for it to arrive from amazon.com. Hi It's published by William H. Bauer Inc. That's Billy Bauer (guitarist that played with Tristano). Unfourtunately Billy recently passed away. I don't have contact details but he was based in New York. I know I once had it....maybe try searching the Google Groups under 'Tristano transcriptions'... ...

Hi Scott Try and get hold of "Lennie Tristano" and "The New Tristano" both are on Atlantic records. They are also in the Mosaic set. (it's great) Both have amazing playing on the piano trio and solo piano. Maybe try a get some of his piano trio from the 1940's - I think ones the Complete Keynote Rec...

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. Jimmy Halperin is definitely on my list of players to check out. Richard mentioned that they’d been playing together a bit and that he’s sounding great. Apart from the internet, his albums are difficult to get out here…I’m hoping to get one before I go....

Hi Thanks for the reply I can stay in the US for 90 days without a VISA. So I'm going to probably do two 90 day trips. I still have to talk to the Embassy properly about it - as you can get a six month tourist visa, so that's an option. As far as accommodation goes I'm hoping to board with somebody....
